It seems that others are thinking along the same lines.

According to the Sunday Times, in the UK, last weekend, Lord Rogers, who designed the Millenium Dome among other things, is aiming to remodel the British home.

Rogers has designed his first new house for 37 years to be followed by 145 more on a new Wimpey estate on the edge of Milton Keynes.

Houses can be extended or reduced in size depending on the owner's needs at any stage in their life and have significant Eco friendly features to cut energy bills.

Also according to the Sunday Times, last weekend, Ikea plans to build 500 prefabricated houses, sold from its warehouse store outlets, costing a maximum of £150,000.

Apparently, the UK government are getting involved too. The UK Government warned last week that unless housebuilding accelerated, the proportion of thirty-year-old couples able to afford their own home would fall.

We can but hope that this is a small beginning for something that will grow and grow.
